IDG Europe sponsrar EM i ORC International och Göteborg Offshore Race
IDG Europe, i samarbete med ClearPoint Weather, kommer att sponsra de två seglingstävlingarna European Championship ORC International och Göteborg Offshore Race. De båda tävlingarna arrangeras av Göteborgs Kungliga Segel Sällskap och går av stapeln den 3-9 augusti. Tävlingarna kommer att äga rum på Marstrand och mer precist på öns västra sida, där vind och vatten ger optimala segelförhållandena. Tävlingsprogrammet innehåller både seglingar inomskärs och utomskärs, med som längst en bana på 24 timmar. IDG Europe kommer att erbjuda tävlingsdeltagarna att gratis få prova ClearPoint Weather under 30 dagar. Efter tävlingarna erbjuds de också att få köpa vissa utvalda versioner av ClearPoint till rabatterade priser.

Thurayas tredje satellit harklarat alla tester i mark- och rymdsegment och kommer därmed att ge en avsevärt utökad täckning över asien och Stillahavs-regionen från och med den 9 juni 2008

IDG Europe svensk distributör av Codans kortvågsradio
IDG Europe har tecknat ett avtal med det Australiensiska företaget Codan Ltd. Codan Ltd. är bland de främsta i världen när det kommer till att designa och konstruera kommunikationsutrustning, såsom kortvågsradio, satellit- och digital mikrovågsradio. IDG Europe kommer framförallt att marknadsföra Codans Militära kortvågsradio, 2110M Manpack sändtagare. 2110M Manpack garanterar en lång batteritid, bra hållfasthet och lätt vikt för kritiska militära operationer. Den kan levereras med GPS, frekvenshoppning, röstkryptering och ett avancerat Automatic Link Establishment (ALE) system för säker kommunikation. Den är också kompatibel med många andra militära sändtagare. Ett antal seminarier och förevisningar kommer att anordnas framöver.

Iridium Openport, en ny produkt för den marina marknaden
Iridium OpenPort är en ny produkt från iridium, framtagen för marin tele- och datakommunikation. OpenPort kommer att lanseras under hösten 2008 och är världens första globala höghastighetsinternet. Den erbjuder en dataanslutning som alltid är tillgänglig och upp till tre telefonlinjer som kan användas samtidigt. OpenPort levererar en bandbredd från 9,6 kbps upp till 128 kbps och man betalar per överförd megabyte. Dess antenn är i storlek med en vanlig båtradar och kan snabbt och enkelt installeras eftersom den inte innehåller några lösa delar. Antennen behöver inte heller någon stabiliserande plattform och ansluts med en vanlig nätverkskabel. Thuraya, provider of handheld mobile satellite services, is preparing to operate commercially in Asia-Pacific markets when the Thuraya-3 satellite becomes fully operational.

Thuraya’s expansion towards East Asia will allow it to provide its proven and highly affordable voice, IP and rural telephony services to thousands of private, public and business customers in the densely populated Asian region.
Lift-off took place at the equatorial launch site at 154o West Longitude, making it Sea Launch’s 25th mission. A 72-hour countdown took place for the launch of the 5,180 kg (11,420 lb) Thuraya-3 satellite to geosynchronous transfer orbit, on its way to a final orbital location of 98.5 degrees East Longitude.

GSMK CryptoPhone 300 with encrypted SMS and Voice.
The all-new GSMK CryptoPhone 300, to be unveiled tomorrow at CeBIT 2007 in Hannover, is the first secure telephone that features encrypted voice, encrypted SMS, and an encrypted storage subsystem for contacts, messages, and keys.

THE NEW PRODUCT: The CryptoPhone 300 is a quad-band PDA phone with an auto-sliding QWERTY keyboard, thus allowing for easy and comfortable message entry. The CryptoPhone 300 features a large 2.8" screen and an elegant black color scheme. Its quad-band GSM engine makes the CryptoPhone 300 suitable for truly global use with all of the world's GSM networks.

NEW MESSAGE ENCRYPTION FEATURE: Starting with the new GSMK CryptoPhone 300, GSMK is making short message service (SMS) encryption available for its new products, in addition to encrypted voice. Based on the same strong encryption algorithms used for GSMK CryptoPhone voice encryption (4096-bit Diffie-Hellman mechanism for the initial key exchange, and the hallmark 256-bit AES256 and Twofish message encryption), the CryptoPhone 300 features SMS encryption (regular and long SMS, including self-destructing "eyes only"
short messages) and a fully encrypted storage subsystem for contacts, messages, and keys.

VOICE ENCRYPTION IMPROVEMENTS: On the encrypted voice side, the CryptoPhone 300 also features the new "fast mode" that was introduced with the CryptoPhone G10i. In case of transmission errors caused by poor connections, "fast mode" eliminates delay build-up in bad network coverage conditions and greatly improves overall performance especially on a number of South American and Eastern European GSM networks.

Shipping of the new product will start on May 15.
