Vizada DVB-RCS service provides two-way broadband communications to and from fixed and semi-fixed land-based installations.
The service is based on the international DVB-RCS (Digital Video Broadcasting - Return Channel via Satellite) standard. It provides broadband service to areas where cable connections are unavailable or satellite service is the preferred transmission technology.
System Network
Through
hubs installed at Vizada land earth stations, Vizada DVB-RCS service can interface directly to the
Internet backbone or to a leased line terminating at a designated user facility. A dedicated leased line
is ideal for customers concerned about communications security. For extra protection, encryption
systems can be added to meet specific requirements for secure communications.
Equipment
The equipment used with this service consists of a small, outdoor antenna and a small indoor terminal.
Terminals compatible with Vizada DVB-RCS service are manufactured by Nera and other SatLabs
interoperability approved manufacturers such as Newtec and EMS. A typical interface used to
connect with a user’s personal computer is a 10/100 Base-T Ethernet with an RJ-45 connector.
